What Exactly is a FREE Screening?

First let us assure you that we WILL NOT be giving you the sales pitch when you arrive to book a series of appointments.  In fact, we will probably not even book any follow-up appointments for you until you have had a chance to take our findings to your physician and get their opinion as well.  As you will see in the description below, our intention is to do everything we can to put you on the right track to help your condition.  If that means referring you to someone else, that is exactly what we will do.

When you book your screening we will send you a pre first visit package that will include forms that you can fill out to help us determine how we can help you with your condition.

Our receptionist will help you complete any sections of the form you have questions about and take them to start your file and notify your physical therapist that you have arrived.

After looking over your forms the Physical therapist will ask you some clarifying questions about your condition, find out what other treatment options you have explored or tried in the past and evaluate what you felt your results or benefits were with this treatment.

You will then go through a series of tests (don't worry, it won't hurt) specific to your condition to determine the specific cause of your condition and what the best course of treatment would be.

The therapist will then discuss their findings with you and make recommendations for dealing with your condition.  If they feel that you would benefit from physical therapy, you will be referred to either your physician or if you prefer a physician that we deal with on a regular basis for further assessment.  We can make a call at the end of your screening to book the appointment for you if you wish.  

(if you do not want to see an MD about this condition, please inform our staff and we can make arrangements for your treatment without a physician's referral)

We then send a letter to the physician informing them of our referral, findings and recommendations so they are fully aware of your situation before you arrive. 

If the physician agrees with our diagnosis that physical therapy can help they will generally write you a prescription for physical therapy that you can use for insurance purposes. 

Before you leave we will give you any information we have on your condition to help you understand your treatment options better.
